An association football game developed by Oxford-based studio Exient Entertainment for Electronic Arts, bringing EA's full official licensing to the N-Gage with 3D stadiums and 2D sprite players across multiple game modes including leagues, knockouts, and Bluetooth multiplayer.
FIFA Football 2004 was the first N-Gage title to earn an All About N-Gage Recommended award, scoring 80% from AAN. The N-Gage version scored 72 on Metacritic — the lowest of all platform releases that year, though reviewers generally praised its control scheme and depth for a handheld. Exient Entertainment was founded in Oxford in 2001 and became EA's primary handheld sports partner throughout the 2000s, also handling GBA ports of FIFA, Madden, and Tiger Woods. The PAL N-Gage release landed on 24 December 2003, with the North American version following on 14 January 2004.
