AAN Review Score ›
A turn-based tactics game by RedLynx set in the 17th-century Caribbean, in which a retired naval captain rescues his kidnapped father by commanding units ranging from foot soldiers and cannon towers to rowing vessels and full Man-O-Wars across a branching single-player campaign and up to four-player online and Bluetooth multiplayer.
High Seize scored 87 on Metacritic — one of the highest scores achieved by any N-Gage title — with IGN awarding 8/10 and GameSpy 4.5/5. The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences nominated it for Cellular Game of the Year at the 9th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards (shared with Mile High Pinball in that category). The game was developed as a spiritual follow-up to RedLynx's acclaimed Pathway to Glory, applying the same studio's tactical pedigree to a pirate setting. It shipped with over 30 minutes of orchestrated music and 1,000 recorded dialogue clips, giving it one of the deepest audio libraries on the platform. RedLynx later became famous for the Trials series and was acquired by Ubisoft in 2011.
