A one-on-one 3D fighting game developed by Barcelona studio Digital Legends Entertainment and published by Nokia, in which players build a customisable fighter, compete in urban environments around the world, and absorb defeated opponents' special abilities. Deep N-Gage Arena integration allowed a global ranking ladder where every victory shifted the world order.
ONE was among the most technically ambitious first-party N-Gage games: the fighting system was built around three switchable stances (offensive, neutral, defensive) with motion-captured animations, and players could upload custom tattoos to personalise their fighter. It scored 72/100 on Metacritic — with IGN awarding 8/10 but GameSpot only 6.6 — and received a nomination for Cellular Game of the Year at the 9th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards in 2006. A sequel, One: Who's Next, launched on the N-Gage 2.0 platform in 2008, used at Nokia's E3 2006 stand to demonstrate the next-generation service's graphical capabilities, and featured real-time Bluetooth multiplayer with motion-captured animations. Digital Legends went on to be acquired by Activision in 2021 to work on Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile.
