AAN Review Score ›
A port of Neversoft's landmark 1999 skateboarding game, adapted for the N-Gage by London studio Ideaworks3D and released as a launch title in October 2003. The port closely follows the PlayStation original — open levels, score-attack objectives, and a licensed punk-and-hip-hop soundtrack — augmented with four bonus stages drawn from Pro Skater 2: Hangar, New York City, Philadelphia, and Venice Beach.
The N-Gage version won the BAFTA for Best Mobile Game in 2004 — one of the platform's most prestigious accolades. At the time of launch it was described by both IGN (8.8/10) and GameSpot as the best game available on the system, with reviewers praising the graphical fidelity relative to the hardware. Bluetooth two-player support was included. Three tracks from the console soundtrack were dropped, most likely due to licensing or storage constraints. Ideaworks3D was a London-based middleware and porting specialist that built much of its reputation on high-quality handheld conversions of major franchises before the smartphone era rendered the business model obsolete.
