Ovi Gaming Review:

Phone Used For Review - Nokia N97 (games may be different on different phone models)

Gameplay - Bejeweled is probably the best-known of a very over-used genre on mobile phone games, where you swap adjacent grid tiles to form lines of identical tiles. You can play either at your own pace forever, or in a "time trial" mode where there's a time limit which can be extended by making matches.

Graphics - It's just the usual Bejeweled colourful gem tiles, nothing interesting at all.

Sound - There's a nice bouncy tune on the title page but this is over in a matter of seconds. There is no in-game music at all, and the only effects are fairly dull (for example different musical notes depending on how long the lines you create are).

Multiplayer & Online - None.

Overall - Despite its commercial success, this basic form of Bejeweled is a fairly dull game. You're just matching up tiles without much thought, and it's not very easy to come up with a cunning strategic plan for matching tiles when the matchups are so difficult to predict in advance. The game modes are also so easy to play that there's never any real reason to try too hard. Even if you don't see a match, the game will highlight one for you if you stay idle too long, and this hint system cannot be turned off so there's never much challenge. There are so many variations of this genre nowadays that it's a disappointment to see such a boring version holding the official licence. You might be better off trying the much more interesting Bejeweled Twist.
