Date Or Ditch is a humourous adventure game where you play a single man or woman who has to delicately negotiate their way through various dates and relationship difficulties.

You can download Date Or Ditch from Ovi Store by selecting your phone's Ovi Store icon, or by going to store.ovi.mobi on your phone's web browser.

Alternatively you can go to store.ovi.com on your computer's browser.

If you can't see the game displayed on Ovi Store, it probably isn't compatible with your phone model.

Phone Used For Review - Nokia N97 (games may be different on different phone models)

Gameplay - Date Or Ditch uses the same game engine as Gameloft's "Nights" series such as Paris Nights, but has slightly different gameplay. Instead of a general life simulation, Date Or Ditch concentrates entirely on romances and relationships, with most of the gameplay centred around choosing the right way to conduct a conversation with friends, boy/girlfriends, and even exes. The freedom of Paris Nights has also been abandoned, as you have to follow a much more predetermined path through the game which consists of highly-scripted chapters. Between chapters there are magazine-style quizzes about your lovelife which have no bearing on the outcome of the game.

Graphics - As with Paris Nights, the graphics are scaled up to fill the screens of phones that are higher resolution, so they may seem blocky. However, if you can look past this you'll see some very cute and varied isometric animation and backgrounds. There are many different locations within the game including nightclubs, cinemas etc.

Sound - Some nice MIDI tunes on here, like the best PC adventure games from the 1990s.

Multiplayer & Online - None. (If you want two-player dating action try dating people in real life... ;-) )

Overall - In a way Date Or Ditch feels like a more restricted and cut-down version of Paris Nights: the graphics, sound and interface are nearly identical but DOD gives you fewer options about where to go or what to do. However, if you enjoy reading and talking about relationships and your guilty secret is a subscription to Cosmo then you may get a lot out of this title.
