Sheep Mania Barnyard Dash is a comedy racing game featuring sheep instead of cars. You can race in different leagues to earn cash, choose different sheep models, and tune your sheep to get the best performance out of it. (The developers, Progressive Media, are the same people who did the excellent Java game Sola Rola and EA's Mystery Mania.)

Gameplay - Sheep Mania: Barnyard Dash is a simple but very well-constructed racing game where you control sheep instead of cars. There are several kinds of race (sprint, chicken, hurdles) and you can buy power-ups for your sheep in the Farm section of the game which increase its performance in the races. The game is divided up into leagues, with each league involving a series of races with a prize pot for the sheep with the most points at the end of the league. The actual racing is done through a one-button control system (or one-touch on touchscreen devices) where you press once to start the sheep going and press again to stop it. This sounds rather simplistic but it actually works well as part of the challenge is to win without crashing into the barrier at the end.
Graphics - Simple but charming cartoon sheep, somewhat similar to Shaun from the Wallace & Gromit animations. The presentation of the game is slightly pixelly on higher resolution devices, but it's also fairly slick.
Sound - MIDI tunes with an agricultural theme.
Multiplayer & Online - None.
Overall - This game probably sounds awful if you haven't played it, but once you give it a go it's actually rather good. The one-button/touch system suits any phone model and allows an entire season of racing to be compressed into a very short space of time, useful for short bursts of gameplay. The overall impression is that the developers have put a lot of effort into making a simple concept work as well as possible. For the price, this is good value.
