Next Gen Hors D'oeuvre 4: Return To Mysterious Island
What is it?
A Myst-style graphic adventure game inspired by a Jules Verne novel, where you are shipwrecked on a desert island and your initial task is simply to survive.
Once you have a food supply you can explore the rest of the island, where it becomes clear that the place was once inhabited but is now totally empty. What happened to the people? How will you get home?
Why should I get it?
This is one of the best adventure games ever released for a phone. It has gorgeous wraparound panorama graphics, and it's "player-friendly" so you can't die (at least not easily), which makes it more fun to explore places and try out ideas.
The game world is huge, just when you think you've cracked the game a whole new area opens up full of unsolved puzzles. There must be tens of hours of gameplay here.
It's also astonishingly good value, it costs just €7.50 / $9.99 / £5.00.
