Q. How do I restore my S60 3rd Edition smartphone to factory settings?

A. In exactly the same way as you do it for S60 2nd Edition devices, contrary to popular opinion.

  1. Power down your smartphone
  2. Press and hold down 'Green', '*' and '3' at the same time
  3. Press the power button for one second, while still holding the other three keys down
  4. Release the three keys when the Nokia logo appears.

This procedure only seems to 'fail' when the key sequence is not done properly. Unless you're very nimble, you might need to ask a friend to help you!
