Is there a way to set my daily alarm to just sound on specific days?

Applications UIQ

Q. I work on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays only. Is there a way to get my Sony Ericsson smartphone to wake me up only on those days and not on Thursdays or Fridays? I have my alarm set to ‘Workdays’ at the moment.

A. Rather cleverly, UIQ’s Time application doesn’t assume that everybody works Monday to Friday. That’s certainly the default setting, but it’s easy to set ‘Workdays’ to mean just the days you actually work. Tap on the main clock face to get into the multi-tabbed settings dialog.

Tap on the right arrow head to get to the ‘Workdays’ page (it’s not shown initially) and you’ll be able to tick the days required. Incidentally, if you needed a separate set of day-specific alarms, running in parallel with your ‘workdays’ scheme but on different days, it’s worth noting that you can achieve much the same result in Calendar, with a number of appropriate timed reminders, set to repeat ‘Weekly’.
