The Nokia N8, the first first Symbian^3 device, is now available for pre-order in Nokia's UK web store. It is priced at £429 SIM-free, with availability scheduled for the end of September. The store is also offering the N8 for free on a £35 18 month contract (Vodafone, T-Mobile and O2). The UK is a key market for Nokia and is expected to be one of the very first countries to get the N8, which is, perhaps, reflected in the pricing being at the upper end of expectations. 

One note of interest is that, in the UK store, the blue variant of the N8 will not be available until October and the Orange version is described as a 'limited edition'.

In the UK, the Nokia N8 will also be available from Carphone Warehouse, O2, Orange, Phones4u, T-Mobile, Tesco Phone Shops, Three Mobile, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone from Friday 1st October. This means it is being ranged by every major UK network, which is relatively unusualy (even for high end models), and suggests a strong endorsement of the product by operators.

You can order from the Nokia UK web store by following this link (affiliate). The UK Nokia store does tend to charge a premium over other online stores (e.g. Mobile Fun are selling the N8 for £399.95, with a release date of October 5th). However it is usually the first to get genuine UK variant stock for high end Nokia devices and, if you want to be one of the first to own an N8, the Nokia store may be your best option. 

The N8 is also available for pre-order in many other countries including France, Spain and Germany, Italy and the USA.

Here is a table outlining some of the pre-order pricing currently available. Variation in prices is not uncommon, differences can be caused by different tax rates, different retail margins and prices may also include a currency hedge (to allow for currency fluctuation).
