Stolen N8

Last night my N8 was stolen... I don't know what to do now 😞 the phone is fully blocked (IMEI too) but I don't have money to buy another one...

Report it to the local police and your network operator (carrier).

Then talk to your home insurance company, in case they cover it at least partially.

Other than that, there's not much more than you can do.

I have been on Ebay.es and BidRivals since Saturday's evening! I can't decide if I should get a new N8, a E7 or a X7! News about N8 not receiving Anna browser were so bad for me... and I want a 4'' screen but the 1 GB space in the X7 is stopping me cause I use to take a lot of photos! An obviously the money is a problem...

Btw after a super bad weekend something great happened to me:

Congrats!!!

I heard a story in the office a few months ago about a gent that purchased an iPad from the Apple online store shortly after its release. He returned it a few days after purchasing with note saying "Wife says 'No'". Apple refunded him. A further few days later he received a new iPad with a note saying "Steve says 'Yes'". Nice bit of marketing if it's true.

You never know, there might be a 'special gift' in the backpack. Oh, when the package arrives be sure to tell me what on Earth 'Shoe Pads' are :con?

Keep up the good work! :icon14:

Count on that, I have no idea of what is that all about... but I think they were very clear about it won't be any N8 in there... I'm very happy about it, tho!

Everybody? I can't find any reference to this on aas, dailymobile, gsmarena, mynokiablog, noknok, nokia conversations, John Craven's Newsround, or google!

I'm miffed that my N97 isn't receiving an update so that's going on eBay this weekend and I'll pick up an N97 mini to replace it.

Are you sure it's the N8 that's not receiving the Anna browser?

Jay hasn't blogged or responded to the tweet though and the original was eight hours ago.

Any other sources?

I think you'll find that a full version of Anna is deffo coming to the N8, plus it'll have the noted camera tweaks that the other devices can't handle.

Nokia Conversations said "Symbian Anna available starting July", then "Updates to Symbian 3.2 and 5.0".

I did read somewhere that the N8 version might be later (by weeks, not months) than the other releases simply because it contains more.

Although I've never lost a phone or had one stolen I do run Track & Protect on my phones. Too late for your N8 now but maybe next time?

I think I read that T&P is preinstalled on the N9.

I used Google Latitude to make almost the same tracking... and I actually reported the location of the last 6 hours before my phone was turned off to the police but I think it was worthless...
