In a private/hidden "notes database" file of the Notes application. They are not stored as individual (text) files that you could access as a phone user.
You can get to them using the Notes app, by synchronizing them to a PC, or if you are a developer, the Symbian/S60 application programming interfaces (APIs).
Via Filemanager you can find the Active Notes in the the Active Notes Folder in Phonememory C: or Memorycard E: .
The regular Notes are stored in the Private Folder in C: and can not be accessed by a Filemanager .
Instead , you can Copy and Paste them in the QuickOffice Application and store them on C: or E: .
These files can be retrieved by FileManager .
FYI : other editors that store files in a retrievable folder are : LightNotepad and DEdit . Both are freeware .
An excellent Freeware Filemanager is X-Plore .
