recovering deleted messages

Hi,
I am using Nokia C6-01 handset and recently I deleted a long SMS conversation accidently.
I am wondering if I can recover the conversation or those messages somehow.
I googled and found that though messages are deleted those are actually available on device for some time inside some files.
Can I recover those messages ?
Also any idea where are these sms are actually stored in Nokia phone.

Thanks,
Deepak

SMS messages are stored in a hidden/private folder of the Messaging app. It is unlikely that any simple software tools can recover the data/messages. If you have made a backup using Nokia Ovi Suite or PC Suite, restoring the backup would restore the messages (if the backup was made when the messages were there, of course).

If you immediately power off the phone, and do not use it at all, a data recovery service (costly!) may be able to recover the data, but they're not likely to be able to restore them as actual SMS messages, but just to retrieve the text content. Such a company is, e.g., this one: http://www.krollontrack.com/

If you've kept using the phone, then the memory locations where the messages were, may already have been fully or partially overwritten making recovery even by a specialized company more difficult or impossible.
