Back in the days of the Psion 5mx I had TomeRaider with an offline version of the Wikipedia. It was very handy. Online solutions are no good when travelling abroad.
Are there any similar offline encyclopedias these days?

Have a look at Wikipock. It's in the Ovi store but only showing for S3V5 but their website shows S^3 compatibility too.
The current version does work on the S^3 (working on my N8).. But it is still a bit buggy and slower(!) than my N97 for lookups for some bizarre reason.
There's a new offline Wikipedia reader called WikiOnBoard (http://store.ovi.com/content/148305). You can download OpenZim files containing all the Wiki data from kiwix.org and openzim.org, or you could roll your own books by using the Book Creator function to export to OpenZim format on the Wikipedia site itself.
