Greetings,
It appears to be the "must have" electronic gadet. Three questions for the U.S market.
1. What is the MSRP?
2. When will the 9290 become availble for U.S?
3. Which wireless carriers will support the 9290?
Thanks...I can't wait!
New questions about 9290
The 9290 is now available in the US
Retail price is $599
It's supported by Voicestream (they say) and Cingular (they don't say offically yet).
I bought it for Cingular and it works flawless.
What are the settings to get WAP to work. It connects but never downloads anything.
You can get the 9290, directly from Nokia USA and delivered to your home www.nokiausa.com
You need to get the WAP access settings from the WAP service provider. Email their support service to get all the details.
I can't send/Recv faxes!! And I have the Fax service turned on from Cingular. WAP isn't working. Even after going through the Nokia setup wizard for WAP and Internet. http//www.nokiausa.com/communicator/setup/intsetup/1,4970,|SRC-CommSu,00.html
But still no WAP and this is disappointing. I wonder if Cingular has CBS. I guess I will have to move to Europe to take full advantage of this phone.
If yours is working, please share with the group so we can all be using WAP.

Hi WillGonz,
I use to own a Revo and used a WAP setting to point to a free Gateway. At that time I used Erricson's GW. You don't nec have to subscribe to a WAP service, just dial into your local ISP and point your WAP browser to a free GW access.
Try setting the Erricson GW address to 195.58.110.201. (I believe it was used to check their phones for WAP access in Europe). If this doesn't work you will need to search around for a free GW access - doesn't have to be in the USA. Try this site www.wapdrive.com for other GWs.
I am using a local ISP to dial into a free WAP GW access.
Hope this helps, Fe3+
