i just received this... maybe old news for some of you. still:

Dear Darko,

SmartAnswer for 3650 is not supported. Nokia has made some changes to
the device which make SmartAnswer incompatible with it. We're trying
to find a solution. If we find - we'll publish it.

If you have any more questions please feel free to contact us again.

Hi!

I just wonder why cant nokia 3650 - users, use your Answering machine? When
will it be compatible with our device?

The problem is that the incoming call putts on hold, none greeting message
is played, nothing recorded either...

Best regards

i mailed those guys that made the other software called "Answering Machine".. avista.ru or something like that... maybe they can helt... as i said before, their software worked a little bit better on 3650, still not acceptable...

I believe it's a hardware thing. I tried 4 apps: Answering Machine by Avista, Call Manager by VirtualWare, SmartAnswer by Symbianware and Answering Machine by MTIT. The first three mutes the microphone which in turn "holds the call" that's why you don't hear anything at all.

The last one by MTIT is totally not compatible with 3650.

My experience was, when i "unheld" the call after an incoming call was "auto-held", i was able to record the message BUT the microphone was not muted.

So i guess the softwares' attempt to mute the microphone causes the phone to "hold" the call. It's a hardware issue, i believe.
