Hmmm title says it all....I'm so so disappointed to have just received yet another brand new N8 with the purple screen problem (3rd one!!!). I so wish my E7 had a macro-capable camera....but that doesn't excuse the digraceful N8 QC/manufacturing dept. Nokia should be ashamed of themselves....and by the way, all the ones in my local care-point (Baku) have same problem, so they say it's normal and won't do anything about it!!.....aaaargh, so frustrating.
another n8 with purple screen
well here in the uk nokia sent out a service bullitin , it told nokia care points to check the analouge screensaver for half purple tint as a way of indentifying the problem , when anna came out guess what , it hid the purple screen on the analouge screen saver clock
so now in the uk any phones with anna will not be classed as having a problem and if you take one in without anna and the problem they just flash anna on it and say its been fixed
nokias whole take on this has been disgracefull
i was in discussion with some people very high up for a few months , manager of customer services at annova thetford where nokia have a massive service centre , director of communications at nokia when nokia banned me from their forums etc etc
my phones were treated as a high priority case and some were even kept to be sen to people further up the chain to be assesd
i got n8s back with worn torx screws , dust under the screen , refurbs for brand new n8s etc etc
i got stung by poor firmware on the n95 that took over a year to fix , i got stung on the n97 gps and camera issue , i got stung on the n8 screen problem , each time nokia customer services have never done a good job , i have been left annoyed everytime
the only time i needed apple care they gave me a brand new phone on the spot , with nokia i have had to wait weeks for a damaged phone to turn back up in worse conditon then what it was sent t them in
i have loved nokia for years mate ive been using symbian for years but these problems and lack of customer care have left me using a sgs2 and android for the minute
i hope you get it fixed if not the only thing i suggest is voting with your pockets
