N8 in the US - Anna Upgrade Possible?

I want to buy the N8. But I'm reading that the latest symbian OS is (intentionally) not available to US customers via OTA or the Ovi Store. Is there a way for me to download Anna and manually install?

I have a N8 and a E7-00 and am in the US. I contacted Nokia to ask them that very question. They said that Anna hasn't come to the US yet but it should. They are going to let me know when it does. I can do a post here when I hear more about it.
