Nokia e7 Already being phased out?

I've been a Communicator user since my first Nokia 9000i back in '97. However, I've stuck with my e90 because of the classic clamshell design. (Plus, it worked.) But now, I keep getting a "connection error" when I try to place a call. :frown:

So needless to say, I need a new phone. I reluctantly went downtown to check out the e7. I went to three different stores, Spaceworld, Expert and Elkjp (a Norwegian electronics chain) looking for the e7, none of them had it. Elkjp had it previously (about two months ago) though. I asked behind the counter if they could order it for me, the guy went and checked and for all three places I was told that they could no longer order the Nokia e7 and that it's probably "on it's way out".

So my question is, is the e7 really being phased out or are these guys idiots? Has Nokia announced any new Communicators coming out? I'm guessing if the e7 is being phased out, it's probably just to refresh them with WinMo7 or something?

No clue, hope you guys have some input though.

hmmm yeah its not on the o2 website anymore - however the N8 is… obviously the E7 didn't perform too well in sales and they've canned it (guessing)

My next phone will be a Communicator in one or another fashion. I've found refurbished e90's (second generation, black) for sale which I'm tempted to buy. Does anyone know if Nokia is coming out with another Communicator any time soon? Also, do you think it will run WinMo7? If so, I'll be leaving the Communicator for good. I *NEED* memory card support, something the WM7 doesn't support.

Not definitive evidence that the E7 is going but Carphone Warehouse are offering them free on a 10:50 per month plan
