hey ppl... a quesion to ask, i been trying to look for an answer, and i hope i haven't missed it somewhere..
anyway, nokia 5800 phone gallery trying to link up from there to the sd card..
i was wondering if anyone can let me know what is going on. when everything is copied (mp3 music.. plus photos/pictures in loads of folders) from the computer onto sd card, and inserted into the phone..2gb worth..
everything can be viewed on the phone via application manager. but when i play mp3, one song plays and when it ends, the back button has to be pressed and the next song selected..bit of a fiddle and ineffiicient but that cannot be helped.. all the picture folders can be seen and when opened, it's the same as the mp3. to view the next picture, the back button has to be pressed and the next picture selected..very inefficient compared to other nokias when the scroll key is used.... the only way i can see is that the only way to view picture folders is by using application manager and opening the memory card that way..
on the phone itself, on the main menu page, select gallery, select images and videos, the phone loads the pictures only as thumbnails. when i press on an image thumbnail, it says Gallery:memory full. close some applications and try again ....... am i correct in thinking that it cannot open any picture because the memory card memory exceeds the phone memory and simply cannot do it? the default thumbnail of the screen wallpaer will open no problem when the sd card is not inserted.. because there are literally hundreds of pictures in different folders, it seems like to me the phone cannot cope efficiently. the thumbnails appear when scrolling down slowly... it seems like the thumnails are being loaded in an ordinary fashion, so it seems they are being loaded folder by folder..
is there anyway to disable the automatic sd card search by the gallery or is it something i have to put up with? is there a way for the folders to be viewed as a folder in the gallery rather than viewing thumbnails?
the mp3 files in the gallery can be seen.. and play in an orderly fashion, when the 1st song finishes, the next song comes on (unlike the application manager option i mentioned earlier where each track has to played individually).. so, how... come i can see, open and play mp3 in the gallery, but not the pictures? when the thumbnails all appear in their hundreds, it freezes the phone for a couple of seconds then continues, but this only happens after the time out kicks in..
in theory, if there is 55mb free in the phone memory. and the sd card is 2gb. if it says when a picture is pressed, gallery full ... the mp3 are in the gallery as well cos it's linking from there to the sd card, how come it doesn't say ga...llery full when i click on mp3? this is just do not get.. surely the same message should come up as they both are inside the gallery. on the sd card, the overall file size of pics is less than mps. what is going on?
