Hi guys, i need some help with my N96 i am currently running software version 11.018 the device has been branded by Telstra and i am unable to update to any newer version which really sucks because the device runs slow and is loaded with Telstra garbage. I have changed the product code using NSS from 0574150 to the code found under the battery which is 0566404 upon doing this i have found that it has not changed anything except the Telstra icon has gone from the menu, all the other Telstra stuff is still on there and when trying to update i get the same old message "No updates available" i have also tried a few other codes that i have found while searching the net for answers but still no luck just the same thing. Can someone please help?? have i missed something?? I am in Australia, below is information from the Device Manager:

The latest for that model (there are three N96 models): http://hunajatehdas.net/nokia/firmware/fi/model:N96-3
Don't know which product code would apply to get the latest. Make sure you use a product code intended for that particular N96 hardware variant (RM-472 a.k.a. N96-3), and not one of the two others (RM-247 a.k.a original/European N96, RM-297 a.k.a. N96-5).
i have only been using the codes intended for model Nokia N96-3 RM-472 (according to the information i have gathered from other forums and other sources) and from what i have been reading it seems to work for everyone else when they change their product codes, they can update without a hitch.

Wow 200 views and only 1 reply :icon13:
Thank you to the person who did reply, i value your input 😊
Still, try to double-check or triple-check that the product code is really valid for the model you have, and that it is a product code for which the newer firmware is available.
you'll find there number on microsoft help page, have look a bit. or take it to a local tech, they get lic for many numbers, will cost.
