I have two 5800 devices, and when I plug in a (any) 3,5 jack, they go in completely and very smoothly.
I recently bought a N8. The 3,5 jack (any, the same ones as above) goes in smoothly, but at the end I have to push harder to get them completely in. To hard IMHO.
I would like to know how it behaves on other N8's.
Thanks
I thought this was a simple question. Just a matter of plugging in the earset and tell how it goes, smoothly till the end ?
Seems my thoughts were wrong
...it does take a bit of a push to fully engage it.
I seem to remember quite a few posts shortly after the N8 was released saying that headphones / speakers were making loud buzzing noises when the jack was plugged in; this was due to the jack not being fully press in and engaged
I think it's due to the three bands / areas in the socket (one for audio left, one for audio right and one for video??) which causes extra resistance.
Ok, thanks for your feedback.
I heard the noise too, and then found out that the plug wasn't fully engaged, exactly as you described.
I think I can be sure now this is typical N8 and that I don't have to return the device.
It's certainly not because of the the three bands / areas in the socket, as the 5800, I have two of them, have the same socket, but there is no need for extra push.
Thanks and kind regards
