POP3 Email
I use internet settings. What message are you getting when the email connection fails?
You should see the following mssages appear as the phone goes through its connection dialogue:
1) Connecting to 'account name'
Establishing network connection via 'your ISP'
You should then get a phone symbol plus a 'D' appearing in the top left corner signifying a data call being established
2) The message then changes to:
Connecting to 'account name'
Connecting to 'your incoming mail server'
Then (1) and (2) get repeated
3) Once you get in you see:
Connecting to 'account name'
retrieving message header x of y
4) Connected to 'account name'
retrieving message x of y
From hitting the retrieve mail button it usually takes me 45-60 secs to get in.
Even when the settings are correct you can get several failures in series for different reasons, usually either because the connection to the ISP has failed or because the login to the e-mail account has failed. The diagnostics messages give some idea where the problem is occurring - they can be pretty wide of the mark on the cause.
the error says connection timed out, always at a certain time, i got to the part where there's a D at the side meaning a data call is in progress but then after a while i get disconnected then the error message pops out. ive tried connecting for the longest time, i cant connect still, u had this problem b4?
It happens sometimes to me too. Usually the problem is with the network that can be momentarely "fiiled up"...try re-booting and re connecting after 30 minutes...this is how I deal with this sort of problem. It's an hypothesis, because if your settings are ok and if your provider supports the data calls the problem could be with the network. Let me know... :P  😉
well i guess it has something to do with connection. ill try using my other internet connections, im using the one with a proxy server... so ill try another connection. tnx. 😃
