Making the jump from Windows Phone - Lumia 900
A bit nervous about moving to Symbian - I really love the Windows Phone OS above anything I have ever used. Finding that all my critical apps have crossovers which I would expect - and even some fun ones like Postcard on the Run.
As time passes though, I think what I want is a kickass camera with a phone attached rather than the other way around. I waited until the Lumia Pureview was announced. But then in spite of all the gizmos, it just seemed like they took a great concept and had to dumb it down for the Windows Phone system. Even if the camera were 15-20MP, I'd still have stuck with it. But the bottom line is the chip is 8MP and it will enter the USA at just under $1000 based on pricing released for the Euro edition. Also, still no confirmation if they are finally providing APIs to allow for HDR/Exposure bracketing - I really miss this having it on Android before.
So with all of that and reading some reviews on the phone, decided to take the plunge. Will look forward to reading through the different posts and issues - the black frame has me intrigued..
Cheers!
I received an price indication between Euro 530-670 here in Sweden at launch in Early November. Cant say if it is 100% but anyhow.
About applications, it depends what is most important to you.
I use a Nokia 701 Belle 2 (for daily life and Nokia E6 sometimes)
To me the most important is not post cards...Well, I think Nokia finally have it right with Nokia 902 in many aspects.
It also will have rich recordings as in the Nokia 808.
If the audio sound and the volume of the speakers will be as in the Nokia 808, I probably will change to Nokia 902 instead of Nokia 808 in a couple of months.
The only thing I miss in Nokia Belle 3 phones is applications for connecting to my Synology NAS Server in every aspect.
It would be complete to me then. Synology is now developing apps for Windows Phone but will not do that for Symbian 3.
Actually if a third party developer like would build a music streaming service that works for a NAS I would stay with Nokia 701/808 for a long time...
Nokia should pay Synology/Qnap and other to develope apps for their NA Server products.
There was a company that used to develope these kind of applications for Symbian earlier, but not for Symbian 3 -phones.
