808 and Nokia Maps

I have loaded all my required maps (version 3.08 wk 47 b04) onto my 808 in the mass memory. Problem I have is that when I try to browse or navigate, there is no detail showing if I have mobile data switched off, only general picture up to a certain zoom level. If I zoom in any further, I just get a blank, with a blinking 3G symbol bottom right in the screen. Should I have selected offline before I downloaded, or does this version only work with mobile data? All other versions I have on other phones (N86, N9, N8) all allow offline browsing and to full zoom detail. Is this version different? That would be a total bummer for navigation when roaming.

Edit:

This is even wierder. I can browse right down to house level in most countries, but in my country of residence, The Netherlands, I can only browse a few locations to that level and others remain almost blank, except for main roads. There also doesn't seem to be any logic in it. Anything to do with the local operators? Or should I just re-load the map?

I set the application to offline and then re-downloaded the map for the Netherlands and now I can browse the whole country to house level. Very strange. But for now, problem solved. Thanks goodness I've always got one of my older phones with me as a back-up, also for Maps.
