WOW 😮
I nearly cried yesterday!
My p800 was on the bed, relaxing!, i then accidentally spilt a glass of water from a pint glass on my desk all over my bed and guess what my p800 was there!!.
My p800 got soaked!.
I was very very lucky though!, as soon as the water split on the phone i immediately turned the phone on its back (camera facing up) in the recovery position 😃 and got my special glass cleaner cloth (glasses cloth) and started wiping. I then took the phone apart and left it all night to dry.
Luckly it dried, i reckon if it wasn’t for my flip being added it would of damaged the phone and gone inside and under the touch screen.
Now u can say that _ THE P800 IS WATER PROOF !!
:P
😉
Yep, I also had a close encounter when my P800 slipped from my jacket's pocket and dropped on the tarmac - so glad when i switched it on and it was still working!!
The P800 simply rocks.
the P800 is a very tough phone yeterday my friend dropped the P800 while trying to take it out of his pocket.....and all that happened was a small scratch on the cover thats all
dropped mine while running - on tarmac! fell apart but just a scratch mark at the top corner 😮
Quite a sturdy phone indeed!
I dropped my P800 on the sharp edge of a moving escalator.. the phone "shattered", i.e. the battery cover, battery, stylus and EVEN the memory stick flew off in different directions. The P800 pieces went down for about 1 floor down, picked up all the pieces and thought the phone was done but turned it on and it worked! Just a couple of small dents on the side.
Given that the memory stick popped out I figured it must have been a tough landing, but the P800 survived.
BTW, I owned an T28world about 2 years ago. Left it in my jeans pocket in the washer because the thing was so thin. Went on a full cycle in hot water, came out with soap bubbles in the screen. Thought it was done too. Dried it, replaced the battery and the phone works like a charm.
I was relaxing in front of the telly all weekend and after I got to the kicthen to pick up a cup of hot chocolate I was pushing a couple magazines aside and accidentally pushed my P800 and a remote control over the edge of the table. Now I have a hard wood floor so I was afraid the P800 was going to crack open or something like that... 😮 😮 😮
The remote control ended up in three pieces but the P800 didn't even get a scratch...

😮 wow now thats amazing :P
i haven't dropped mine yet or got it wet 8)
I remember when i had my Ericsson r380s I dropped it from my hand, standing up and the diktafone button didn't want to work anymore... :x
Also when I had dropped my n7650 the back piece over the camera flew away, but it was just to but back on 😊
I was in Paris on holiday when dropped my P800 of the top of the Effile tower, while it was falling it impacted with a passing flock of birds it then bounced of the side of a building before heading at high speed to the ground.
Just before it hit the ground it got hit by a speeding train which threw it into the road and was driven over by a passing truck, it pooped out from under the trucks wheel and flew into the river. Before sinking to the bottom it got hit by a passing speedboat.
When I got down to the ground I dove into the river to get my phone but could not see it. I put my head under the water and used my MAGIC WORD, I could see the screen light up and here it beep and the tone waiting for my dailing command. I swam down and recoverd it, AMAZING!! it was factory perfect.

.......AMAZING!! it was factory perfect.[/quote]
Incredible! And to think, some people claim that stuff today isn't built to last.

Dramatic! Sounds like the next James Bond movie scripts :x-mas:
All these accidents prove that the p800 is a well built phone, but it doesnt seem like it when u use it. when i push the buttons down on the flip when it is on the table i can almost hear the battery pack cover creaking almost "like cheap plastic".
but when it comes to the crunch its a survivor! 😃 thats what counts!
So are those purpose built shock absorbing plastics? It's time for group phone reviews to include a crash test :P 8)

Exactly, we better hire the Jackass gang to try the phone out for us...
I'm sur they could give it some tough treatment... :vamp:
Sounds great! 😊 Im still glad I have never dropped my phone though 😊

I am glad that I did not drop it myself too....
I use my P800 to wake me up. One morning I pressed snooze and still half asleep I was going to put the phone onto the table next to my bed. But I stumbled into something, the phone slipped from my hand, followed by a loud *plink*.
To my horror, that noise was of my P800 dropping into a pint glass full of water. I was awake in a nanosecond, took the phone out and took the battery out. Left the phone to dry till afternoon. When I switched it on the display did not work properly, so i left it to dry for another day. And after that it worked perfectly! Lucky me 😊
I am quite impressed with how robust P800 is. I did swap my pint glass for a smaller one 😉
Got a phonecall from my dad.. he was playing around with the brand new p800 packige that just had arrived after 2 weeks.
I cant get it working was the first thing he said..
I almost had a breakdown.. another 2 weeks of resending, + god knows how many weeks for repairs. So I sat down (on the phone) and went through the normal steps, check for keylock, is sim card in properly, did you plug in the mem, was the battery charged?
Yea I charged cellphone all night.. and nothing..
hmm tried swapping batteries with your ericsson phone?
oh.. wait.. I got it.. I forgot to insert the battery ^^;
*phew* was I relived 😊
wow, there are loads of clumsy people here 😃
I nearly dropped mine out of my bedroom window 2 days after getting it, I managed to catch it on the way out, nearly had a heart attack 😮

Guilty as charged... 😮ops: I'm extremely clumsy, I once lost a Siemens S35 when I accidentally dropped it in a pint of beer.
Used my old R320s to open beers, one day it was dead... never new if it was the alcohol or the age who killed it.. 😞
I've dropped my P800 so many times that I lost count of them. Fell out of my jacket pocket, fell of the desk, dropped from my mezanine down the ground floor -luckily bounced off the armrest of my sofa before it hit the hardwood floor and sprayed parts allover the floor.... But the scarriest moment was when I put it on my bed and made love to my gf, and while she was having her orgasm, she blew the phone across the bedrood and it landed like 15 meters away on the floor, batery, stylus and stuffs were everywhere... I got really panicked and ran for it (when I was this close to having my own org. 😃 ) and put it back together... So far, everything works perfectly, just 2 small scatches on the back cove and a small scratch on my Brando screen protector. Already ordered a new one from Brando last week :P .. should take them 5 working days to ship it to Vietnam, so I should get it by tomorrow sometime
