I don't think I ever had this happen on v5.34. I've had v5.54 for a couple of months and it has happened only once.

I agree that v5.54 is better than v5.34. It's not dramatic, just a general improvement in reliability - I restart less often now.

Try up-grading I never had that problem!!
how much the price if the phone not in warranty !!!?!?!?
I really don't know! I change my 9210 every year because I don't wanna pay extra money to fix a damn 9210!!!

what how did u do that !?!?!
buy new 9210 every year !?!?!!
If u have a 9210 and it is covered from warrantee u don't have to pay for the sw up-grades. Whatever problem u have with your 9210 will be fixed for free...but you only have 1 year of warrantee!!!
Are you able to sell the old ones or what do you do with them? Do you get a reasonable price on the old one?

The same here, my 9210's never last more than year, 😞 within a few months it starts to creak when opening, 😮 due it it being in my back pocket all the time, :-? I don;t think that anyone who uses there on a daily basis with heavy duty use has had it last over a year! 😞
I use mine daily and I got in september 2001. It has lasted perfectly. Maybe I have gentle hands 😉 But I don't go around carrying it in my back pocket - I believe you're not meant to be sitting on it 😃
Well your are a lady, so things (apart from cars) tend to get handled more carefully, 😃 but I am very surprised that yours has lasted soooooooooooo long.
I carry mine in back pocket because there's no were else to put it 😞 and I don't want to have one of those big shoulder strap things 😮 , but carrying it in the back pocket is also good for security because u always feel it there and u know thats its never lost! 😃

I agree with you on that!!! :P

Yes,I know a lot of ppl that want 9210 but don't wanna spend the entire amount,so I'm able to sell it in a couple of days at a very reasonable price! 😉
Btw, Newest Firmware to 9210i is v 6.00 (came out couple days ago)
Do you think it's improved a lot since v 5.54?
No... just small fixes..
Here's the list
Changes/improvements made from version 5.54 to version 6.00:
[list]-Support for new memory circuit (new supplier for the component). The memory circuit will be changed in production (a separate Service Bulletin will be publish about that later) and new SW version is required to support the new memory circuit. The SW version 6.00 is also compatible with the old memory circuit but the old SW versions cannot be used with the new memory circuit. This change does not affect to the functionality or performance level of the device.
-CMT phonebook number selection list functionality improved
-Pressing accidentally a number key in a certain phase of the contact phone number list is now handled correctly.
-Clock & date reliability after battery removal improved
-Changes for French e-mail character set
-Changes for Hungarian e-mail character set
-Opening SMS folder when line has been changed from SIM ATK menu improved
-Tel Aviv added in World clock city list
-Operator list updated[/list:u]
The All_Nokia_data file is same for v5.54 and v6.00

If that's all, it really doesn't seem worth the hassle of upgrading. I suppose that the change from 5.xx to 6.xx is driven by the hardware change - the other fixes are only worth 5.54 - 5.55 !!
Hi there.
Can you tell me, if you take your phone for a software upgrade do you loose any information on the device itself. I know technically spoken the info on the MMC will not be touched.
You lose everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Before you up-grade either back-up or move all the important data to your mmc... 😉
