Surfing WAP via Bluetooth?

5 replies · 2,181 views · Started 07 April 2003

With much help from reading this forum, I have eventually got Bluetooth working smoothly for the purposes of syncing my 7650 to my PC. Much better than IR, so thank you to everyone who contributed to these discussions.

Now what I'd like to be able to do is sit somewhere in the house, and access WAP pages on my 7650, but going to them over Bluetooth to my PC and thence to the internet, rather than using GSM or GPRS.

Anyone ever tried this? Any clues on how to go about doing it?

Many thanks,

regards,

LOL I just discussed this with a friend of mine!! =)) I was hoping to be more original.... =)))) anyway, we agree that some kind of software is needed, since the available configuration don't help... either gsm, gprs or hscsd, needing an access number to be entered, (so it will always dial somewhere). Since there is no Bluetooth option, no luck... =(((
will keep my eyes on this one

Hi,

There's a Java WAP browser called jBrowser that works over Bluetooth.

Cheers

I don't know about wap, but you can share your internet connection via Bt with 7650 phone

Check out this thread. I use it with Doris and works fine, even in next room

Hi. I have a doubt about this kind of internet sharing... can I watch videos using real player?! apparently, when trying to access a video entering it's full path (in Real Player), it won't connect to the internet via BT, saying there's no GPRS connection available...
