Video on 7650?

14 replies · 2,422 views · Started 07 April 2003

Hi, I've seen a couple of people talking about using video on their 7650.

How do I 'enable' it on my phone? 😮

Cheers

You need certain programs to do it.

If you want to record your own videos, you'll probably need Hantro, Nancy or some other app.

If you just want to view 3rd party content (news etc) you can get Oplayer or Real.

** Magic **

Can they be downloaded through WAP or is it a lot more complicated than that?

you can download the program from Nokia's site (haven't done this myself, but I suppose you can see Nokia on WAP). It's over 400kb, but compresses down to less than half that on the phone - it will allow 10 seconds (100kb) of recording with sound.

Try it out 😊

Cheers! Sounds good, I'll give it a try 😃

Don't suppose anyone's got a link to it, save me looking for it 😉

How lazy is that!
Haha!

Here you go:

hmm... doesn't work! Just came up and said unknow response :-?

I can't seem to put in the capital letters though in the address, I take it that's the problem?

It will work through WAP won't it?

PS: cheers for giving me the link 😉

wahey!! Works now! 😃

Nice one, cheers for the help guys

I still cant get the image uploader to work on fotodock.com tho 😞 I think I need to use internet - GPRS connection but I don't have one! I'm with o2 and they don't seem to have it

Try coping the standard O2 WAP GPRS access point but instead of an IP adress use 0.0.0.0 - normally does the trick 😉

ok, tried that. Didn't work, it's just coming up now saying cannot connect to image server :-? the GPRS seems to be working though, it does connect

I've sent an email to o2 asking them what to do, I'll probably get a thick headed response next week

try this configuration (I'm translating from Spanish, but this is Tools/settings/connection/access point):

connection name: whatever you want to call it
data carrier: GPRS
name access point: mobile.o2.co.uk**
name of user😮2**
need password: no
password (leave it as it is)
authentification: secure
IP gateway 0.0.0.0

Check the name of the access point, I'm pretty sure about mobile.o2.co.uk, not so sure about the username. Maybe an o2 user can confirm his settings?

Paul

Cheers, I'll try that

Have to dash now, I'll let you know if it worked in the morning!

Cheers! 😃

hmm - try ringing Nokia's national helpline. When you get thru, ask for the data dept. I did the same thing a long time back and they were very good (admittedly I rang a spanish call centre, not UK, but should be comparable...). Since there are only a few mobile operators, these people know the data settings, from what I hear it will be easier than asking your operator directly.

You can find that phone number on nokias web site, support, UK...

Paul

just go to www.nokia.com->phones->7650->software, and you'll find a link to the software.
