Wrong ringtones come up when getting called

Hi everybody,

i have the following problem with my 3650. I got some polyphonic ringtones on it and made one of them the standard ringtone for the standard profile. But when I'm getting called, instead of A-Team e.g., i get the standard Nokia tune (from the commercial..i guess you know which one i mean). Even if I make in the contact list a special ringtone for a buddy, when he calls me, i get the standard Nokia Tune. But that's happens only with the ringtones that i've put on the phone. To make it even more confusing...if i select a ringtone that is build in the phone, e.g. chickendance, and adress it to a buddy, i hear the ringtone. I don't think that the midis that I put on the phone have an error, cause i can listen to them when i select them on the profile menu. And the last confusing part...i also changed the sms ringtone to a "you got mail" msg...and this works...so why don't the midis work ?!?!?

You have to make sure that the ringtones are stored in the correct folder. They belong in the Sounds\Digital folder on either the phone or the memory card

same thing happened to me... after installing some polyphonic tones... i got the standard nokia tune :-? and i think they are saved in the right folder automaticaly

Same thing happened to me also. But it was wav files not midi... All i did was lower down the attributes during my conversion, like the Khz, mono and kb/sec. Everything is ok now. My conclusion is the phone wasn't able to recognize the tone. I don't know about the midis though...

Did you try selecting the exact ringing tone with the different profile modes? Does it work fine?

I had the same problem and the solution for me is when I put the ringtone to my phone (wav-mid) I select the "save" from recorder option. Then everything work fine.

I have had this problem

notice that the 3650 has a tendency to 'lose' the Memory Card

in my case, it defaulted back to the standard ringtone because the custom ringtone had 'disappeared' along with the memory card

will also get problems when you switch your message store, camera store from phone memory to memory card

I understand that Nokia 3650 able to support WAV files as my ringtone. What will it sound like when it ring. The same I as I heard from normal player or ....simply "flat"

In order to have my favourite mid as ringtone, can I put it into the MMC (multimedia card) or I must put it in noway else except in the phone memory.

Great. I can store them on MMC but I don't see them when selecting from Profile. Where directory should I placed in the MMC

They have to go in the sounds\digital folder on the MMC. If you didn't format your MMC in the phone, the folder may not be there. Here's how to create it.

Open sound recorder and make sure you have it set to use MMC memory, not phone memory(Options->Memory in Use->MMC). Then, record something (your voice, your cat, the TV, whatever) and save it. This will automatically create the sounds\digital folder on the MMC. All MIDI and WAV sounds you save on or transfer to the MMC need to be there to be used as ringtones.
