Unable to write characters/sms — Nokia 3650, 3660, and 3620

hi,

i have a problem with my phone. I turned it on today and on starting up..i got an error (don"t know which one exactly) and it says that i should contact my phone dealer. So i turned it off and on again. Now it started up correctly. The problem is now that i can't write any characters. If I want to type a sms i can only type numbers (i cant switch with the pencil or #-Button)..same with contacts..can't write any characters there in the name field e.g., there just appear numbers...and i also have a dictionary on the phone but i can't write chararacters there also... 😞
What now ???

Have you just installed wildskins?
You have uninstalled it - without deactivating it.

Re-install it.
activate it
reboot
deactivate it
reboot
check it REALLY is deactivated
uninstall it
reboot

You should be back in business.

Thanks..it worked..i didn't have to go throught the whole (re)installation procedure..turning them off and rebooting the phone was enough to bring it back to work

Ahh you still had it installed - that was easy for you then 😉

Most people have already uninstalled it before seeing the problems, then can't understand if it has been uninstalled why it should still cause them problems 😊

I could have saved much time if I see your post on this one.

I had to reinstall my phone because of wildskinz.

well I guess I know how to fix it now.

that proggy is not good.

stay away from it...
