WIN NT ??? Is there a way

Is there a way to get mp P800 to sync with my PC when running Windows NT? Is there any aftermarket software out there to do this?

Sony's official position is that it is being developed but not available through them yet.

I really need to get my contacts & calender downloading from Outlook 98 (running on NT) to my P800.

HELP!!!

Thanks.

bear in mind that the fact that NT4.0 doesn't support USB might not be the key issue here.... even if you had a working com port connection to the phone on nt, and could use it as a modem, can you even install the sync suite?

I would certainly be thinking about getting the suite running 100% before you worry about troubleshooting a connection - I reckon you won't be able to do it.

Time to dual boot?

Getting the software installed on the machine isn't absolutely necessary (though it would make it a hundred times easier). If you can get the P800 to talk to the machine, it should still be possible to get it to synchronise.

It does use various "standards" and there are third party applications out there that should, with some effort, allow you to synch (just ask the various Mac users out there).

But as I've mentioned before, I've tried connecting using the Ericsson serial cable to both NT and a Windows ME machine using various incarnations of the phone monitor software and all to no avail (so far!).
