Problems getting&sending emails

Hi, I've got a real problem getting & sending emails using my P800 on the vodaphone network in the UK and need some help from the more sage amongst you.

I've used SE's WAP/Email/MMS configurator successfully to set-up the appropriate internet accounts, but everytime I try to get&send for any of my POP3 accounts, the little "shuddering" globe appears in the system tray, but I get a new icon next to it. This icon is like an inverted phone handset with a big red cross through it. Tapping this icon results in the message "Calls not allowed (GPRS)". DSN lookup never happens and a connection is never made to the POP3 mail handler.

I've tried using "MMS GPRS Postpay" and "VodafoneGPRS" to connect, but I get the same problem every time.

Anyone got any ideas? This is driving me nuts and I want to remotely collect my emails from my P800.

Might be stating the obvious here, but have you asked vodafone to connect you the GPRS service? I know that has to be done with most phones.
