Has anyone had this??

Hi folks! Yesterday my little Nokia decided it didn't want to communicate with my PC suite. User posted image It would "transfer information" but not actually connect. So i tried everything, including re-installing all data that has anything to do with Nokia. Still no joy. Not a major problem yet i suppose.
Then, this morning i see that the Cdrive has decided to leave me! Gone! Completely wiped out all contacts, calender data, accounts for web and messaging, etc. I now have no file manager (it was on C) and the little monkey still won't connect to PCsuite to put them back on from my backup.
I've been running a "clean" version, as few untrusted s/wares as possible to keep reboots down to a minimum while i'm still on the shakey 3.54v.
Is there any way to force a connection, opening the port by some other means, because the "connect" button on the PC suite is as usefull as rice pudding slippers.
Any help, or details of a service center in the north, would be gratefully recieved, and may save the Nokia from a painfull death!!
hazy1uk-The Formatter!!

Uninstall of PC suite doesn't clean registry info. If you 've got an error it will persist even after uninstall and install again.

Try manually clean windows registry. Start RegEdit and delete the category with all included items

Nokia\\NokiaConnect6\\EpocDevices\\(your device)\\FileManager

It hope it will help.

Thanx for the responses. Yes, einternet was installed...why?? It was only on for a day. Good though, don't get me wrong!!!
When re installing PC suite, the wiz. tells me that there is already a nokia prog there, but i removed it already! Is this the registery referred to? Cos it will only let me continue with the previous install.
Cheers.

uninstall, cleaning all register entries ( if you're not sure wich one you may delete you can export (save) the register info you want to delete and thend elete it, so you can always put it back when to much errors occur User posted image
Search your HD for any remaining files/directories of the nokia suite and delete/rename.
Then try installing it again. You could try to connect with a laptop to the infared port, maybe that function still works (install pc suite on laptop and pres chr + |>> symbol on the nokia).

Hope you can get it fixed again.

I have a simular problem, but not so severe. What was the reason behind the question if eInternet is installed? What is the problem with eInternet??

In my situation, the link software will connect once after a PC reboot and stay connected for a while before suddenly informing me that it can not find a connection. The icon on the task bar will go crazy "transfering data" but no connection.

Is this problem related to eInternet?

Chris

Mmmmmm. I've tried it all, really i have. But the connection is still just transferring data without connecting. I've tried two versions of PC suite, but still User posted image
Ahh well. I got file manager back on by mailing it to myself so there's still hope.
