Just a little utility idea that i think some P800 users would find useful if there's any developers reading:
The ability to have the green LED stay on permanently if your phone has unread messages. The fact that the screen goes completely blank most of the time means I have to wake it up just to see if messages came while I was out the room or something.
App idea
Good Idea 😊

I always found this a problem on my t68(i) to. But on my P800, I just turned off all the power saving options, so now I can just look at the screen to see if I got a new message, without touching any key first. Sure, the battery will get empty much quicker, but I just recharge it everynight, and then it's no problem
I agree with that. Thats why Im also getting an extra battery. I hate it when im typing in a message ot playing a game then suddenly the light dims down and I then have to guess where I can poke the screen to make the light turn back on, and noticed that I accidently poked a button which exited the programs and all! Dang..
I think it should be the blue LED that stays on or flashes when you have messages, that thing is so bright and looks cool too! Alternatively, because the green LED is actually dual colour and it would make it more obvious, the LED should flash red, alternating in green for network connection and red for messages/missed calls then if you had no signal but messages it would just flash red.
So simple but it would make the phone 100x more friendly.
Also I think when the screen goes to sleep or the light goes off there should be a button, or area of the screen dedicated to simply to turning the light back on. I noticed this last night whilst playing MP3s before bed, it was dark and I'd start playing an MP3, after a while the screen would go dark so when I wanted to check how far into the song I was or choose what song I was going to listen to next I almost always ended up clicking another song which would start playing and beacuse the MP3 player has no fast-forward (another flaw in my opinion) I'd have to listen to the whole previous song again if I wanted to hear it all 😞
I always find the very bottom of the screen (in the middle) works fine for that.
Even switching off the power save options isn't ideal. My phone looks the mutts nuts when the screen saver is on so I don't want to lose that feature.
As for the suggestion that it should be the blue LED, i agree actually, the blue one can be seen for several miles in the right conditions, but unfortunately stays on when the phone is charging so that wouldn't work. So maybe this red one that you speak of is the way to go.
Does anyone know if it's actually possible to implement the LED solution?
Yep, it's a good idea to have some sort of indication whether you have new message without having to press anything.
On another topic, with the rising popularity of multiporpose touch screen remote for TVs, VCRs, etc., is there an app. for this sort of thing for the P800? If not, you can put that on the list for developers to consider.
... though it doesn't appear to be downloadable just at the minute.
It's made by PsiNT, and if you do a search on this forum for "remote" you'll find the other threads about it.
