Nokia N8 black screen due to Camera

Hi,

Have a Nokia N8. Its screen turns black and doesn't respond to anything except vibration feel at the press of lock and unlock button. Things return to normal after a long time. This problem is experienced only when I make use of its camera and there is exposure to bright light - Sun or from TV. Wondering is there any fix to this problem or will have to take care of light exposure?

sounds strange, so when you hit the home button, there is still no screen, after using the camera in bright light?

Thanks for the reply. Nothing happens at pressing home button. It must be happening but since there is no light so cannot see anything. Switch off the phone after keeping its on/off button pressed for long time and switch on again. It works but no light on screen. As I had mentioned earlier it happens at exposure to bright light. It can be from Sun or TV also.

it may be possible the screen ribbon has come loose in which case you can either send to nokiacare or if you are game you could try disassemble the n8 and check this cable.

If cable is not at fault, simple solution would be by trial and error, replace the screen with one from ebay, and if this fails, suspect mainboard, from which it may be time to get a new handset like the nokia 808 😉

if your phone is in replacement period then i would say take it to service center i am sure you would get resolved with this issue

I removed its screening as of suggested. It is working fine since then. Many thanks once again
