Do you have to do something to activate the ir remote because i cant get it working thank you

go to CONNECT folder and select INFRA RED.

No, it should work just by starting the app. (I think that f1gpshop didnt read the question 😃 )
It might be that your tv or whatever just isnt compatible with it.
