Problem with long sms

9 replies · 2,128 views · Started 13 April 2003

Occasionally when i send an sms message to another phone, the other user gets an error message instead of the sms message. I think its to do with typing a long message which then automatically gets broken up into smaller messages, but i dont think this works properly.

Any ideas on a work around?

I think the problem is not with your P800 but the recipients phone. His or her phone doesnt support Long SMS so nothing to worry about 😊 Solutions would be not to use Long SMS when you send to that person.

I had the same problem with one contact of mine, he recieves garbage everytime I send him a Long SMS so I have to break it down manually.

yeah, I guess I'm just going to have to work out exactly how many characters I can include in an SMS before it breaks the other phone.

Cheers though

& even if you miss the little message that says "message 2", when you click on send it will ask you that this is a 2 part message & would you like to send it as 2 messages.

There is also an option that will disable this, I think 😊 Heres a screen capture of it, just untick extended messaging.

aha, thats exactly what i was after. Thanks very much for that!!

Im colour blind so can't see the letters turning red 😊

cheers people
