i dunno if anyone else had this issue, but i have all gprs set up and everything, but when i get one of those messages after a paid my money for a video for jordan, oplayer just says "checking location" it does nt freeze i dont think, just stays there, what is wrong?

Sounds like you have selected the wrong GPRS account in Oplayo - it needs and internet account not just WAP.
What network are you on?
Most networks you can just make a new access point by copying your wap one and changing the IP address to 0.0.0.0

If you are on O2 they have recently made changes to their network, you will need to make sure you have GPRS internet account added to your package, it's not the same as GPRS WAP anymore.

Either that and you were too impatient and did not wait long enough for Oplayer to connect to the video server

Have a play using the free video's that came with Oplayer.

Let me know how you get on - all feedback is good 😊

And don't worry - you will only get charged for watching the video, if you can't connect then you have not been charged - receiving the playlist is free.. 😉

Best

i am on o2, i have the pay as u go genire chip (10 pound top up per month for free txt and wap) but when gprs first came in, i got that free and still have, it might be the thing u mentioned about the gprs account but i dunno.i have waited, 7 minutes just now and gave up, surely it cant be that long, i can get the opening video to play as well as get playlists(i think, when i move the joystick right once the program opens i get showing the introduction video, and a folder bout jordan. any ideas?

also, the videos i am supposed to have on the perminant screen (more videos folder) do not show up, the phone starts to connect , then says opening playlists and stays there again till it timesout disregard the part about seeing the jordan folder, that was on oplayer 2 , i just upgraded to 2.02.

The introduction video is stored on the phone and played localy not streamed.

It's because the free gprs has ended, you need to phone O2 and have GPRS Internet added to your account.

There is a thread about it on these forums somewhere.

If you get the jordan folder that is not the playlist - the playlist is a list of 15 videos.

Just call O2 monday morning and they will switch you on.

The networks really do need to sort all this out to make it easier for the average guy!

the free gprs couldnt have ended, i just accessed it this minute, gprs is when there is a spinning G in the corner of the screen on one side and on the other is the G in the box, i have no folders or anything, just the video that comes with it

Sorry, but Mobile Web (Internet GPRS) is NOT available on PAYG no matter what you do... 😞

If you're on O2 PAYG you can only get GPRS WAP...
