3650 questions for potential buyer

Hi all, i currently have a 7650 which i might sell in order to buy a 3650 but i have some questions:

1. do all apps and games work on 3650? what is the compatability rate of the two phones?

2. with the mmc, can you install apps and games and basically everything directly onto the mmc? is there any special mmc which the phone takes or is it the standard type?

3. how difficult it is to actually use, i.e. text messages (the buttons look like they might need time to get use to)

anymore questions ill post them when i think of them

cheers

I'm not sure if ALL 7650 apps & games will work on 3650. I've installed 65 apps and 85 games into my 3650. Out of 65 apps 2 does not work. Out of 85 games 7 does not work ---> not bad eh

Yes you can install *most* of the apps and games directly into the MMC. You'll have the option where you will install them.

is there any special mmc which the phone takes or is it the standard type?

Dunno coz up until now I'm using the free 16MB that came with the phone. I've been looking for 128MB around my place but no luck to find one 😞

3. how difficult it is to actually use, i.e. text messages (the buttons look like they might need time to get use to)

Its a bit hard on first use but if you're a "phone-typist" LOL! you'll surely get use to it after few days

Take your time browsing the pages here in AAS about Nokia 3650, most of the questions has been asked and answered. If you dont find answers then post it and I'm sure lots of moderators and regulars will respond. Also there's a search engine in every forum... the easiest way to find the answer 😉

what do u mean most? can u give me an example of an app or game which doesnt install to mmc?

Example is Timetool by http://www.timetool.de/tt7650/english.html
I requested a trial version from http://www.timetool.de/tt7650/english.html#Download it is working if it is installed in the phones memory but doesn't work if installed in MMC.

Snails, Geopod, WirelessIRC - I have them in my 7650 but I can't make them work for my 3650.. i dunno why :-? I have not ask the authors.

IM+ works if installed in the phones memory

I've tried trial versions of answering machines - SmartAnswer, Avista AM and Call Manager that were developed for 7650 but none of this 3 will work properly. They can be installed in the MMC and use but the caller will not hear any recorded greetings/responses. I do understand this.. it is simply because these apps are made for 7650 and for unknown reason, the firmware 2.50 of Nokia 3650 does not allow these apps to play the recorded greetings. Not sure if the next firmware (some said 3.07 is out but not here yet) is out will help the developers to make their answering machine apps work.

do u knw if ne shops are now selling the new f/w version phone ? Any one recently bought one on t-mobile? wot firmware is tyhat?
