a Simple E-mail program PLEASE!

Well I just got the 9290 and really like it a lot except...

The messaging program. I have tried the installed program AND Active mail and don't like either of them.

All these programs say they have these wonderful "connection saving" features for getting mail when in today's day in age with Free nights and weekends that's the last thing I worry about. With both of these programs no matter how I set it up it only downloads all my message headers and then hangs up.

I then have to re-connect (a 2 minute process sometimes) to get each individual messages beyond the headers. Even marking all of them still is an extra not needed connection. Again, this does this even when I choose "Download Messages" and NOT just headers.

This is crazy. Does anyone know of a 9290 program that will simply download all my mail in a quick text format and not bother with all this disconnecting and header stuff?

I have 3 POP3 email accounts I want to check and I want to log on to the net, hit a few buttons, wait a minute or so and then have all my mail in front of me without having to keep logging in.

In addition, none of these programs offer the "Leave mail on server" option that I can find. I don't want them deleted from the server, just the Communicator!!

Any ideas would be appreciated

When I use the 9210 to do email I use the 'Ctrl' + 'L' shortcut (when in my mail folder) to get online - it allows more flexibility, you can pretty much choose to do what you want as you go and it doesn't hang up without the user disconnecting. It's a bit annoying having to delete emails (they only get 'deleted' when you reconnect! Doh!)

I know what you mean about wanting the Communicators email program to behave more like a 'normal' pc mail program such as Outlook Express, for example. Shame there isn't such a simple setting which makes it behave like that. I think this s another example of how much the Communicator is designed to be a corporate tool to connect people to their work email.
