Memory Full When Trying to play large vid clip. HELP!

I encoded the matrix last night and it looks so sweet on nokia multimedia converter. I bluetoothed it last night which took forever and finally this morning i went to watch it. To my surprise it said memory full when I tried to play. I thought that couldnt be right and I checked and sure enough I had 32 mb remaining on my 128 mb mmc. So. Anyone know whats wrong? Do I need to put a copy of real player on my mmc and run it thru there? Does anyone know how to do that? Any kind of suggestions would be appreciated.

Couple of psssibilities
1: make sure you have no apps installed in the phone memory, use your MMc card as it frees up phone memory to cache large video files.

2: i use PvAuthor to convert, set my bitrate to 75kps and frame rate to 7.5fps, the highest audio quality, 12hz or something. Matrix should just come in under 120meg (its 2hr 15mins long) ! got film 100 girls, on in 77mb, played ok. At 150kps i get music video on in about 4meg. real player seems to run at around 7fps, so any faster is a waste.

3: get a USB mmc reader and transfer direct. Its a pain taking the card out of the phone, but so quick

alright. I looked at my memory and there was 2 megs free. How much do you think you need for the matrix which by the way came out at about 77 megs. How am I supposed to delete all the aps from my memory? Copy it to the mmc and not run anythign from the phone memory?

If you installed any additional programs to your phone memory, uninstall them and reinstall to MMC when given the option. Also set your Camera and Video to save to MMC, watch the size of your ringtones if you download any, as it seems to duplicate them on your phone memory. (could be wrong about ringtone?)

IMPORTANT, you must have first formatted your MMC card in the phone, as this automatically creates folders for your files that the phone recognises. I think this catches loads of peope out.

My phone shows 2373kb free, soundfiles are the biggest hog, 355kb.

I`ve noticed that if real player reports "communicating" it means your bitrate and fps is too high. Also hold the Menu button down to see which apps are running, and try switching off and on, the run the movie as it clears the memory

I did some of that and now i have 3 megs free and yes I formatted my mmc a while ago. Its got alot of space. Im confused as to why it says memory full when I have so much empty

My only advice now is re encode it, i supect it has to be the bitrate conv and Frames per sec (fps) you selected. Try the ones i quoted earlier

Andy

tried Nokia conv, dont like. Smaller file size, but changing bitrate makes little difference. I covert a britneys "baby one more time" as a benchmark, PvAuthor program gives a lot beter quality,(motion artefacts are much better) but 2 meg bigger at its best settings. Pv`s files only play in realplayer. This could be part of your prob.

i will reconvert Matrix tonight, and let you know how it goes.

If you have broadband mail me at [email protected], and i will sent you my files as an example.

Altright thanks for the help. I need some help with pv tho as far as settings go. Would you be able to direct me to where you found out the setting for pv? One more thing. Does pv make rm or 3gp files cuz if it makes rm how the heck do i make it 3gp?

Rm and 3GP are two different formats.

RM = realplayer; 3GP = inbuilt Nokia format

if you have RM then it'll be really small but quality somewhat shit. good settings can be found all over the forum.. here are some i got off someone i forgot who. will?

Suggested encoding parameters for 7650/3650 devices are as follows:

Local Video playback:

Framesize - 176x144
Max Bitrate - 80kb
Framerate - 7.5 or 10 fps
Video Codec - RV8
Audio Codec - 8kb Music recommended but G2 and Sipro audio will work as well

Local Audio Only playback
Bitrate - 20kb or lower
Codecs - RA8 preferred but G2 and Sipro codecs work as well

3GP is encoded from AVI.. and AVI can be whatever u set.. but bear in mind regardless of some factors the 3GP has a sortof 'maximum size' as it will automatically bum down the audio and video quality.
