Has anyone heard any more about the P800 being offered by carriers in the US? I've heard rumors that T-Mobile, Cingular and AT&T all plan to offer it, but so far nothing.
P800 in US??

Davey davey... You are living in last year man. You can purchase P800s all over the country and they work with those three carriers (on their GSM networks). As far as I know none officially support the phone yet, but you can still buy it and hook it up to their services.
Go get 'em.
vexy vexy, yes you can buy it in the US... BUT....it is expensive....I was offered it for $1000 without a contract or $799 with a contract... I am not interested in it for these amounts and I doubt he is either...a guy from I think cingular told me that it would be available through them the second week of may but who knows....anyway if anyone has any idea when our local carrierers will provide the phone and for how much let us know... I have been waiting for this phone forever but Im not will to pay over the cost I should...I will just wait till its offerered through a carrier....but at this point next generation Sony P800 (which I have heard about) or some other new phone will be the one to get (handspring models are do in september)

You can get a P800 from mostly reputable vendors on Ebay for about $600 or a little more. I bet the price from AT&T et all will be about $500 bucks with contract... so, think of it as spending $100 for the priviledge for the next 2-4 months.
Well ... T-mobile is selling it for aroung 600 $$ ... Amazon has it showing for 600 $$ with contract with T-mobile .. (tho not available right now)..
If you don't want the risk associated with Ebay, then you can purchase P800 from some very reputable internet vendors like expansys for around 650 $$ ....
ohhh.. before I forget .. you can also purchase it from Sony eshop for around 650 $$ tooo ...
I stopped by the ATT Wirless store today in a suburb of Chicago and asked about the release of the P800. Company documentation/memo they produced indicated the release date to be the first week of June - they could not provide the cost of the phone with contract though.
Mark
Right about the costs...I know I can order a P800 from many sources, but the deals I've seen offered in the UK by various carriers makes me hope that it will be offered in the US at a reduced upfront cost as well.
you can buy an unlocked P800 from the sony-ericsson website for $649
wow it seems to be expensive, everywhere but britain..... i paid 140 for my P800 on a contract.... i saw an offer where you could also get the handset free, but only on a business contract
I got mine from mobileplanet for $599 with a 1-year T-Mobile contract. Delivered the next day.
I bought mine from SE for $649 and then just took my SIM card from my SE T68i and put it in the P800 and was all set using AT&T wireless.
I then went to an AT&T wireless store and got an extra SIM card (not activated) so I can still power up the phone that's not in use and can transfer files, calendar items, etc. between the phones. The SIM card was a freebie.
I use my P800 during the week and then switch to the T68i on weekends.
Dangit! forgot to log in.
