Logging in to Yahoo Email - Can't!

Greetings All! Have searched for info on this issue and did find a thread, but no answers.

Am able to log into, send and receive email in our Verizon webmail, but am unable to log into Yahoo. 1 - got a "your browser does not accept cookies" - verified the check mark was there, and did not run into that again. 2 - Initial Yahoo login generated a "server could not be authenticated, do you want to continue" msg - answered "yes", 3 - got 2nd password verify screen, which login returned "this page has errors and will not be displayed" and that was that.

Anyone run into this, and even better, solved it?

Cheers!

The built-in browser does not handle JavaScript, Cookies or Frames (or anything much beyond HTML 1.2).
This rules out quite a lot of sites (including this one).
Download Opera or WebViewer and try again -- worked for me.

Or just connect to Yahoo mail using POP3, which works fine other than for sending e-mails with attachments, which I still haven't got woking.

After I got my P800 I subscribed to Yahoo Mail Plus ($29 per year I think) and that gives me POP3 and SMTP access to my Yahoo Mail. Now I can use Messages in P800 instead of Browsers to check.

You can get external pop3 access to yahoo on the web site go to mail preferences.

The settings on Vodafone are:

Incoming server address: pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk

Outgoing :

mail.vizzavi.co.uk

The outgoing smtp server will be different for each operator. The inbuilt mail app works well over GPRS.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions - will follow up on them!
Cheers!

OK - have installed WebViewer and tried to access Yahoo - error message rec'd = "this resource requires a secure (HTTPS) connection which is not supported by your device".

Anyone got a clue as to what I need to tweak?

Thanks in advance!

Answering my own question - called T-Mobile, removed T-Zones and added 2Meg VPN feature for $9.99/mo.
Cheers!

Hi Folks! Still am unable, even with a few hours spent with T-Mobile Tech Support, and even with Webviewer, and even w VPN service, to sign into Yahoo email - the error message is "this resource requires a secure (HTTPS) connection which is not supported by your device".

We have a 100MB paid account w Yahoo.

Can anyone enlighten me as to what the problem might be?

Many thanks,
NAL

why not log in via wap (wap.yahoo.com) and you can acess it with build in wap browser

Hi and thanks for your reply - have been successful using wap.yahoo.com, but would like to get direct regular web/html access working. Am in the states w T-Mobile as carrier. I realize that POP access is buyable from T-Mobile and with that, access can be gained via T-Mobile, but I don't want separate email accounts combined in that way, nor do I want email downloaded directly to the phone.

Has anyone gotten Webviewer to work via regular HTML w T-Mobile?

Cheers!
