I'm a christian and i only want to adress all of you who are blind believers.
That is very wrong,allmost every war
in the past i dont know how many year has had religion basis.
Sometimes you should think for yourslef and not let some book tell you what to do.
There was great line in DOGMA(A movie which was protested agains by the catholic church),
it is about having ideas,not believing.

There isn't a right or wrong religion,that includes people who
claim that they dont have a religion,like Raven,if they do
believe or better yet,have ideas about what is meaningfull in life
and what is right or wrong they have done nothing wrong,going to church or reading the bible does not make you a good person.
You are talking about mortal sins,is having sex before
marriage a mortal sin? Well,lets then send to hell 99% of the young peoeple today.

you dont need a religion or book or some holy man to tell you

What about a writing that was prooved to have dated
before the bible and it was thought to be writen by Jesus himself,do you
know what the writing said,it said that the
kingdom of God is within you and all around you.
It is not within buildings of wood or stone.
Split a piece of wood and you will find me.
Look beneath a stone and I am there.
Of course the writing was not recognized as true by the catholic church
allthough it was prooven that it dated before the bible.

I truely believe if all religious people were like you, the world be a much better and more peaceful place.

I've studied some religion(not much), and from what I've read most religions have a good basis/foundation/idea, but when humans start to put in their own interpetations, things can go very wrong and conflicts are inevitable.

As far as I can tell, the only major religion who has a truely peaceful message, don't condemn disbelievers to "hell", don't try to force their believes upon others, and is generally about reaching a higher understaning about life through personal growth, is Buddhism.
IMHO any of the other major practised religions are for the weak of mind and the blind flock-followers, but as always there are of course several exceptions...

And i too have my believes. I believe in myself and this very moment.

I've also had many long talks with various religious people. One recent chat in a pub nearby, into the late hours of the night, springs to mind. This was with an atractive woman 5-10 years older than myself(I'm 26). She asked me how I could feel confident and secure with myself without feeling the presence of Jesus watching over me. I then told her about a week and a half I spent in a cottage all by myself in the middle of winter(actually throughout christmas and new-years), in the dark Norwegian woods with family and friends miles away, far from any sort of human sivilisation.
She was shocked that I didn't go crazy or get scared, especially since I didn't believe in Jesus. I just replyed that if you really believe in yourself you can survive anything.
Anyway, we actually had a nice long discussion, she didn't try to "save me from damnation" or anything like that, and I didn't disrespect her believes.

I think she really needed the security she felt she got from Jesus, and as long as she doesn't try to force others to believe the same, I can see no harm in that. People are different and we all have different needs, and if everyone would just try to respect those differences, I think this world would be a better place to live in.

Sorry about the long post, and I'm certain I'm going to get flamed again, but if you don't have anything intelligent to comment, then I won't bother replying to your post.

I'm sorry for the things I said. I just heated up when I saw someone say FUCK RELIGION. Respect us and we'll respect you too. Just want to make something clear, I didn't say that it is blasphemy to say that GOD is in hell or people with no religion go to hell! Anyway, I respect all kinds of religion (or no religion at all) as long as they respect HUMAN LIFE, our environment and themselves. :angel:

DON'T USE RELIGION AS AN EXCUSE FOR DOING HORRIBLE THINGS (like suicide bombings then you become a martyr, totally incomprehensible for me!!!).

AS LONG AS YOU DON'T MAKE YOUR FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS SUFFER BECAUSE OF YOUR ACTIONS, I THINK YOU CAN BE COUNTED AS YOU BEING GOOD HUMAN BEING - WITH OR WITHOUT RELIGION/AFFILIATION.

Human nature kills not religion, misleaded guidance by the priest/preachers/clerics/imams that KILLS AND CAUSES THE WORLD ALL IT'S SUFFERINGS.

LET US JUST NOT USE RELIGION AS AN EXCUSE FOR HORRIBLE THINGS WE DO.

I think that we've all agreed on what is important and what religion should stand for.
