PC Suite Bluetooth problem - please help

6 replies · 2,922 views · Started 16 April 2003

I'm using a Wave Linker Bluetooth dongle to connect my phone in Win ME. The BT software detects my 3650 no problem and it has installed the necessary ports and modems. com4 - BT serial, com5 - BT DUN host, com6 - BT DUN client etc.

My problem is this. Mrouter's connection properties show com4 as "connected", and com5 as "connecting". It never actually connects. There are no devices listed in mrouter either, but the system tray icon is green. When I go into PC suite it asks me to connect my phone and click "Ok", but the "Ok" button does nothing.

I've tried everything! Any help would be appreciated.

I've tried with just com4(serial) checked and it says "connected", and the system tray icon goes green, but there are still no devices listed in mRouter, and PC Suite still asks me "to connect my phone and click OK", but it won't let me click "OK".

This is driving me mad! I've reinstalled PC Suite but still no luck.

I've just spoken to Nokia's support department and they admitted that my Bluetooth dongle isn't currently supported by PC Suit. There will be a new version released soon which is beta testing at the moment and will have support for a wider range of Bluetooth adapters.

Erhmm Not supported?

I thought that BT was a specifikation and if the BT dongle sticks to those specifications any program should work? guess not :shocked!:

I have a Sandberg BT usb adapter (similar to the acer BT) and it works perfect (they are both based on the Zeevo chip http://www.zeevo.com/support_faq.asp

Or have I missed a point somewhere? I try to read what I can about BT, but still find it hard to understand why some have so much problems with the BT adapter.. Anyone here, who has some good answers? 😮
