I think the poster is referring to the 9210 internal drive. You will first need to make a backup of your c drive (either with pc suite or onto the memory card). Then format the c drive by rebooting the machine and pressing shift+ctrl+F as soon as the Nokia startup screen appears. Then reinstall from your backup folder. Should now be ok... mine was when I had this problem.
3.82?? I thought it went from 3.62 to 4.13.. i could be wrong though.
You can get the latest version of PC suite from the Nokia site... suggest you try this if the formatting doesnt work.

Stop I think the formating was a bad joke

before doing any formating either PC or nokia try the following

Download latest version of pc suite from the nokia site

Make sure that the version works with xp

Re boot your PC

Close down on the pc all other programs running

disconect any perphels

Reboot your nokia (take out battery)
turn phone side off

plug nokia into pc with cable

Run the install programme

If you previously had it installed have you tried de-installing it via.

Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add Remove Programes

If this does not work then you might be looking at re-installing WIndows XP User posted image.

An unhappy 9210 owner.

The problem you describe is familiar, but I'm damned if I can remember what it is that's causing it.

There's an application somewhere that causes the system to stop some applications (setup.exe is an application) until the workstation starts to shut down.

I'm racking my brains to remember what it is that causes this, but it's not a Nokia issue. I'll post the offending application as soon as I remember.....

In the meantime, it may be worth checking the Process list while the setup is stopped and looking to see if there's anything taking up too much processor time.
