Problem installing 1.4.2 PC Suite — Sony Ericsson P800, P900 and P910

When I try to install the new PC suite 1.4.2 I get the following message �Another program has been installed/uninstalled since the last reboot.
Reboot your computer to complete the previous installation/uninstallation before running this setup.� I have rebooted my PC and uninstalled the old PC suite but I still get the same message. Does anyone know what to do?

try shutting your computer off and then turn it on and see if it works.

If not, repeat this procedure.

It happened the same to me. Ultimately, it worked...

I had this problem too, and no matter how many reboots I did it kept coming up with the error. (I've only tried V1.3.0)
Ultimately even now I still get 'Cannot start capabilities manager' and it crashes explorer (XP). 😞

Anyway to fix the problem with the eror messgae preventing install/uninstall try opening regedit.exe and then go to:-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\windows\currentversion
Check entries in the RunOnce and RunOnceEx registry keys.
Delete anything in there which looks like it relates to install/uninstall (I haven't got the problem right now so can't remember the exact name of values - My keys are empty).

I had this problem on 2 pc's, went into safe mode on both and was able to install ok, try that and see

Tried this...but still had the error...
Then tried the "runonce" solution: there was an entry...deleted it...then the installation finally worked.
