HELP!!! I SCREWED UP MY PHONE!!

oh my god oh my god! I tried to play around with the files in my phone and i now screwed it! I changed the startup motion and now I can't on my phone. What should I do?? HELP...PLEASE HELP!!!

If I were in your predicament....

What I would do first is to remove the battery for say, around 1-2 minutes, then place it in again then try to ON the P800.

If this doesnt help, I would then try to do a restore from my previous PC backup.

If this still doesnt revive my P800, then finally, I would go to the nearest SE service center.

ERm..the phone can't even start until PDA mode, it appears the ALERT TRIANGLE...i have no way to RESTORE the files coz the PC doesn't recognise the phone.

I am wondering if SE doing software reinstall or upgrade, do they need to switch on the phone? Or they just shock the phone somewhere using special tools? Thanks

Sounds like you need to take it to a service centre. And let this be a lesson to us all, this phone is just like a small computer you really should not mess around with the system files unless you know exacly what you are doing.

yes..i agree...but computer at least you can rescue it yourselve if you screw it up! I always screw up my pc!! hahaha...!!! do i get charge when the service centre reinstall software only my p800?? where do i find the service centre near me?

Yes, just get it reflashed at a SE service point, all will be fine.
You tried a startup video with sound, didn't you? Tut tut, do a search for and read our posts (couple months old now) about changing these both here and at my-symbian.com, it's all fully explained.

This is what I call an expert's answer! haha...U found out what i did... 😮ops: ..hahaha...do SE charge for reflashing the phone? How about the warranty? THANKS!!!
